Netflix watch party on Firefox
TellyJam runs in Firefox 140 or newer, built from the same code as the Chrome version. Friends on Firefox, Chrome and Edge join the same parties.
TellyJam is coming to Firefox Add-ons soon.
Built for Firefox, and still being checked. TellyJam for Firefox passes our automated tests on our own test site. Checks on the real Netflix, HBO Max and Prime Video sites in Firefox are under way. In Chrome, all three are tested live.
Start a party in Firefox
- Use Firefox 140 or newer on a computer. To check, open the menu, then Help, then About Firefox.
- Add TellyJam from Firefox Add-ons. It’s free, with no account.
- If Firefox asks, allow TellyJam on the streaming site. Firefox lets you choose which sites an extension may use, and TellyJam needs the site to sync its player.
- Open Netflix, Prime Video or HBO Max, pick a title and press play. If the video won’t play, turn on Play DRM-controlled content in Firefox’s Settings, under General.
- Click TellyJam in the toolbar, choose Start a party, and send the invite link.
What works in Firefox
The same TellyJam as in Chrome: synced playback, chat, reactions, polls, the queue, scheduled parties and calls for up to 6 people.
Friends on other browsers
Parties don’t depend on the browser. Send the same invite link to friends on Chrome, Edge or Firefox.
Questions
Which version of Firefox do I need?
Firefox 140 or newer, on a computer. Firefox updates itself, so most people already have it.
Can friends on Chrome join my party?
Yes. Parties don’t depend on the browser. Friends on Chrome, Edge or Firefox open the same invite link.
Why won’t the video play in Firefox?
Streaming services need DRM to play. In Firefox Settings, under General, turn on Play DRM-controlled content, then reload the page.
Does it work in Firefox for Android?
No. TellyJam needs Firefox on a computer. During a party, you can still use your phone as a remote and chat screen by scanning the code in the sidebar.
Is Firefox support finished?
It is built and passes our automated tests in Firefox on our own test site. Checks on the real streaming sites in Firefox are under way, so tell us through the help page if something is off.
