Twitch watch party
Watch a Twitch past broadcast with friends, in step, or watch a live channel together with a private chat and call of your own beside it.
TellyJam is coming to the Chrome Web Store soon.
New. Twitch support is built from Twitch’s current pages and is still being tested on the real site. If something is off, tell us.
Videos and live channels
- Past broadcasts and videos (twitch.tv/videos/…) sync fully: play, pause and skips.
- Live channels share play and pause only. Everyone watches live, so positions can differ by a few seconds between people.
Start a Twitch watch party
- Add TellyJam to Chrome, Edge or Firefox on a computer. It’s free, with no account.
- Open a past broadcast or a live channel on twitch.tv and press play.
- Click TellyJam in your browser’s toolbar and choose Start a party. The chat opens beside the video. If you don’t see TellyJam, click the puzzle icon and pin it.
- Copy the invite link from the sidebar and send it to your friends in any app.
Join a party
- Open the invite link in Chrome, Edge or Firefox on a computer.
- Choose Join the party. TellyJam opens the same title on Twitch in that tab and joins you in.
- No TellyJam yet? The invite page shows how to add it. Then come back and join with one click.
What you can do
- Chat beside the video, with emoji, replies and reactions that float over the picture.
- Free voice and video calls for up to 6 people, right in the sidebar.
- Polls, and a queue of titles everyone can vote on.
- Fullscreen with the chat still beside the picture.
- A refresh or a dropped connection doesn’t end the party. You rejoin as the same person.
Questions
Does a Twitch watch party sync live streams?
Partly. On a live channel, everyone shares play and pause, but positions are not lined up, since each person watches at their own live edge. Past broadcasts sync fully.
Can we talk while we watch?
Yes. Up to 6 people can talk and see each other in the sidebar, for free.
Is Twitch support finished?
It is new. It is built from Twitch’s current pages and is still being tested on the real site. If something doesn’t work, tell us through the help page.
Do we need Twitch accounts?
Not for TellyJam. Each person watches in their own browser, and signs in to Twitch only where a channel or video asks for it.
